History: John Ryder grew up watching his grandfather Alex Ryder, aka Dark Ryder, wrestle. He always admired the hard work that the wrestlers put in and vowed that one day he would too, like his grandfather, would become a wrestler. It was apparent that John was quite athletic early on and after some heavy persuading his parents finally enrolled him in his grandfather's wrestling school. After Alex Ryder retired he focused his attention on his wrestling school and in particular, John. It wasn't long before Alex took John under his wing as his personal pupil pushing John to become better, faster, and overall stronger. John showed significant improvements after weeks of morning 20km runs with a 50 lb bag strapped to his back, afternoon sparring sessions with 10 different wrestlers in a row, and a late night physical strength routine.
John was excited to impress his grandfather, his idol, in his first ever indy match. Unfortunately this fate was never to be as he suffered an embarrassing loss. This loss caused Alex to lose faith in John and ultimately led to Alex dropping John as his personal pupil. Alex returned to his school never to speak to John again.
This fall from grace in his idol's eyes caused a deep sadness that soon turned to hatred. This hatred fueled John in his wrestling future. His next bout ended up with him winning with ease, toying with his opponent causing him the same embarssing fate he once had endured. However paramedics and police were forced to rush to the ring when John refused to let the sound of the bell stop him from further embarassing his opponent. John was able to continuously beat on his opponent until his blood soaked his body red and stained the ring with the outline of the body. It was in this moment that John discovered his love for wrestling and his motivation to become more accomplished then his grandfather.
